Served as President of the University of Abuja Students' Union Government, an early chapter in youth participation, representation and organised public leadership.

THE PROFESSION

Called to the Bar

Entered legal practice after the Nigerian Law School programme, beginning a professional career that would increasingly intersect with public-interest work and national commentary.

INSTITUTION BUILDING

Law Corridor

Co-founded the Abuja-based firm and later held senior leadership responsibilities, helping build a visible legal practice across criminal defence, dispute resolution and other areas.

PUBLIC INTEREST

Advocacy in the courtroom

Acted as counsel for detained associates of Sunday Adeyemo in Federal High Court proceedings involving the DSS, pressing questions of liberty, bail and compliance with court orders.

National profiles highlighted his work in criminal defence, human-rights advocacy and his views on justice reform, politics and the place of law in challenging power.

A deliberate transition

Stepped aside from Law Corridor as political engagements intensified, emerged as Accord's candidate for Oriade/Obokun, and took on the role of Spokesperson of the Imole Campaign Council.

A STATEWIDE CAMPAIGN

From campaign communication to a second-term victory

The Imole Campaign Council's campaign culminated in Governor Ademola Adeleke's re-election on the Accord platform with 511,067 votes. Pelumi remained one of the council's most visible public voices before, during and immediately after the election.

THE PUBLIC ARGUMENT

Responsibility before position

Reflecting on roughly a decade of grassroots engagement, Pelumi framed the coming contest around the collective strength of the people, political responsibility and a belief that representation should remain close to the communities it serves.
